In July’s newsletter I share my thoughts on prioritizing self care and some resources for the heat, including coming to our heated classes!
The Importance of Self-Care
Many of you know that me taking on the studio was an unexpected, and very welcome, blessing. I had a lot of travel planned for the summer, and I thought long and hard about cancelling the plans. Ultimately, I decided it would be a good way to practice what I preach: That it's by taking care of ourselves can we be present for others.
That's why I spent last weekend at beautiful Lake Tahoe connecting with nature and wonderful yogis at Wanderlust. I left inspired and with new ideas for classes, sequencing, and props to take all of our practices deeper. Stay tuned!
There’s a lot of talk about self-care these days. It’s a balance and constant exploration to figure out what is restorative for each of us. For me, it’s my yoga and meditation practice. For you, it could be an evening at the lake watching the fireflies flash or spending an evening cooking and eating your favorite meal.
Whatever it is, I encourage you to dedicate the time to recharging your soul in the way that calls to you. Want help figuring out your self-care practice? Come talk to me after class and we can do a meditation to start exploring it.
